Tree Health Metrics as Function of Spotted Lanternfly

My colleagues and I recently installed a large network of tree sap sensors, point dendrometers, and meteorlogical station to study the Lycorma delicatula (Spotted Lanternfly) threat to timber species. An automated system conisting of 16 sap flux sensors and 32 point dendrometers were installed on eight Black Walnut trees. A meteorlogy station including an anemometer, precipitation bucket, radiation sensor, soil moisture sensor, air temperature and relative humidity were installed.

Networking Campbell Scientific Data Loggers with MD-485 Multidrop Interfaces

**I recently lead our CZO field team to install and configure a network of Campbell Scientific CR1000 data loggers. The layout of the locations runs from the bottom or valley site, up to a mid-slope site, then finishing at the ridge top. To prepare for the configuration we laid out close to 400 meters of twisted pair cable housed in 12 inch pvc conduit in two sections; section 1 ran from the valley floor to mid-slope and seciton 2 went from mid-slope to ridge top. **
